Katherine Smith is a Certified Permanent Cosmetic Technician and a Certified Xtreme Eyelash Technician. She received her Permanent Cosmetic Certification from Huntington Academy for Permanent Cosmetics  in Huntington Beach , California , and her Xtreme Eyelash Certification from their offices in San Francisco .

She is a member of the SPCP, Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals, which is the largest non-profit professional association in the USA and internationally for the permanent cosmetics industry.

Cleanliness and maintaining the highest professional standards, meeting the requirements of OSHA bloodborne pathogens standards, are a priority at Forever Faces. The environment is very clean and all utensils are sanitized each and every day. Needles are only used one time and discarded after being used on each and every client.

Katherine has been a tournament water-skier for 11 years, but mostly she likes to do it for the fun and exercise. Katherine and Steve Smith live in San Jose with their two children.

Education

October 2006 - Received my Permanent Cosmetic Certification through Huntington Academy for Permanent Cosmetics by Karen Holvey in Hunting Beach, CA.

January 2007 - Certified in Permanent Cosmetic Comprehensive saline/salt lightening and removal class.

March 2007 - Advanced Eyebrow Class- Utilizing facial morphology for design I learned the creating of eyebrow design, selection of correct pigment color, creating texture, definition, and the illusion of movement. This high level class takes eyebrow design to a new level.

March 2007 - Certified in Bloodborne Pathogens & Principles of Infection Control, Meeting the requirements of OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030

March 2007 – Attended the 16 th annual Convention of the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals- Earned 18.5 hours of Continuing Education Credits

2007- Camouflage Workshop-Under Cover: By Elizabeth Finch-Howe and Marjorie Grimm.

The Art of Scar Camouflage and improving their appearances is a very delicate procedure. Learned about what types of scars there are. What causes scarring? How is it formed? And learned about advanced corrective work that is done on scars.

2007-Tricks & Tips for Anesthetizing Skin: By Mary Jane Haake

Learned the h istory of the anesthetic products used in our field from its beginning to present day. The presentation detailed how to get the most out of your topical analgesics, and dispelled many of the urban myths about how to “get down” to the dermal base.

2007-FDA News and Hot Industry Topics: By Dr. Donald Auzine

Dr. Donald Auzine, considered the “Botox® Guru” around the country and among his peers. He serves on a team of product researchers for the FDA. Dr. Auzine discussed Botox and other facial fillers and how they affect permanent cosmetic procedures.

2007-Needling Around, With Needles: By Pati Pavlik

Often called the paintbrushes of the skin, the science of needles has everything to do with a successful procedure. Learned all aspects of the most common needle configurations used today; the technology of needle construction as well as the development and relationship needles have with the skin. Which needle works best for each type of tattoo technique?

Learned about “One Pass” lip technique from the consultation through the aftercare instructions. Had the advantage of seeing the entire process for a complete understanding of the benefits of this technique.

Learned all aspects of infection control, how to prepare and use an industry specific Exposure Control Plan, and learned what to expect in the future from governing entities like OSHA.

2007-The Original Designer Eyeliner: By Liza Sims

Designer Eyeliner is a beautiful soft powdery edged eyeliner in which rich base colors segue into lighter hues of like color groupings. Learned about mastering this technique and how it will set your eyeliner procedures apart from others.

2007-The Latest and Greatest in Laser Technology: By Elizabeth Finch-Howell

Laser equipment and methodology is ever changing as it relates to tattoo pigment. Learned about how doctors are currently working on patent pending pigment technology based on microencapsulated biodegradable and bioabsorbable dyes within safe, colorless polymer beads. Some of these brilliant doctors are our very own medical advisors.

July 2007- Certified Xtreme Lashes- Learned the basic and advanced techniques of the art of eyelash extension application.
